David Bagley Pistol Shooting and Marksmanship
After many years of shooting these are the pistols I have chosen as the best.
This is the Ruger New Model Super Blackhawk Stainless Steel 10.5 " chambered for the .44 caliber Remington Magnum. I have used this gun for years in Metallic Silhouette Competition targets at 100 yards. It's performance has never let me down. This is the Magnum Research Desert Eagle Titanium Gold Tiger Striped chambered for the .50 caliber Action Express. This gun is useless. It has no practical purpose unless you are at war. I have it for the {EGO RUSH} at the gun range. The percussion from this gun has actually made my nose bleed when I have a slight sinus infection. Completely useless but an absolute hoot to shoot. Made in Israel. This is the Glock model 22 standard chambered for the .40 caliber Smith&Wesson. The best, most accurate semi auto pistol I have ever shot larger than a .22.
This is the Smith&Wesson model 649 chambered for the .357 Remington Magnum. This is my "conceal carry" gun. It has a shrouded hammer, and crimson trace laser. This gun can be accurate up to 100 feet. Where the dot is the hole soon follows. You can aim this gun without even looking down the sites. If you can see the target just put the dot on it and you hit your mark. Great for self- defense for two reasons. 1. It can be aimed from any precarious position. 2. The laser dot lets your opponent know you wont miss. These two points help to suppress a dangerous situation by using intimidation. The laser works well in daylight or night time. God forbid if you ever have to use a gun for self-defense, be damn sure you hit the correct target.
These are the Ruger Mark II Target chambered for the .22 caliber long rifle rimfire. These belong to my Daughter and I . Hers is the black one. Over the years she has become very proficient with it. Her favorite gun is the 10.5 inch .44 magnum. She has been shooting pistols since she was 14.
My Daughter Sarah just turned 21. She is taking a concealed handgun class. I chose this gun for her for four reasons. (1) It weighs less than a pound loaded. (2) It is hammer less, which means less chances to get hung up on something in a purse. (3) It is fitted with a laser aiming system from Crimson Trace. An excellent deterrent for aggressors. They know you won't miss even at night. (4) It is loaded with .38 Smith & Wesson special +P Ammo. Enough power to stop aggression without uncontrollable or painful recoil.
At first glance this doesn't seem to display a well controlled shooting pattern. This target was made at the Bullet Trap in Plano TX. I shot (3) 14 round clips at each side aiming as quickly as I could. About a second per shot. The target was all the way down range at 25 yards. This gun never jammed, stove piped, or failed to hold the slide open on the last round. I love this gun for many reasons.
Above is the latest addition The North American Arms .22 Magnum Pug. Cute isn't it!!! |
